Monthly Bike Tours

Dade Heritage Trust presents monthly bike tours in partnership with Bike Walk Coral Gables, Friends of the Underline and Friends of the Commodore Trail. 

The bike tours are held in partnership with Bike Walk Coral Gables and depart from the Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Avenue, at 10am.

October 20: Pinewood Cemetery
Join us as we take a ghoulish bike tour through the Pinewood cemetery, the oldest cemetery south of the Miami River and the final resting place of many of Dade County’s earliest pioneer settlers. This spooky cemetery features original tombstones and unmarked graves from early Florida pioneer times amidst a beautiful pine rock land habitat. Zombie attire encouraged! Spooky Spokes Bike Tour of Coconut Grove
In partnership with the Friends of The Underline and Friends of The Commodore Trail, join DHT for a Spooky Spokes Bike Tour of Coconut Grove.  We meet up at the Vizcaya Metrorail Station and pedal through the Grove to explore the imaginatively decorated homes of Coconut Grove where the Halloween spirit runs wild and unbridled. Bring a comfortable Halloween costume and join the festivities! FREE but registration is required.  Register Here

Aviation, agriculture, industry, design, and the swinging 1920s. This is the origin story of the City of Opa-locka, Miami-Dade County’s eighth oldest municipality located in the northern part of the county just south of Miami Gardens. The bike tour, presented by Dade Heritage Trust and Opa-locka Preservation Association, starts at the very beginning of Opa-locka’s founding. From the days of American aviator Glenn Curtiss purchasing land for the benefit of conservation, then to be developed into a uniquely themed city, to the military’s presence at the Opa-locka Airport. November 17: Trek to Girl Scouts Camp Mahachee on Old Cutler Road
We will take advantage of cooler weather to take this long ride to Camp Mahachee, a Girl Scout Camp in beautiful hammock near Matheson Hammock and Fairchild Garden. Our guide will take us a tour of the property and share the history and the plans for wonderful property. December 15: Homes for the Holiday
Get into the spirit! On this ride we visit the Gables’ most festive holiday decorations including Merrick Park, Biltmore Way, Coral Gables Methodist Church, and the Coral Gables Merrick House.   REGISTER HERE
