Inspiring the Next Generation
Our award-winning Historic Places, Green Spaces K–12 Education Program brings Miami’s history to life for thousands of students each year—many from Title I schools. The program is entirely free for participants, including bus transportation, allowing every student to explore Miami’s parks, museums, and historic landmarks. Recognized as an official STEAM partner by Miami-Dade County Public Schools, this program builds pride and connection to place among our youngest citizens.
Preserving Places, Protecting People
Through our affordable housing preservation initiative, DHT restores and rehabilitates historic multi-family buildings, ensuring they remain safe, healthy, and beautiful homes for Miami’s most vulnerable residents. These projects preserve more than architecture; they preserve the soul of our neighborhoods, the greenspace, the scale, and the sense of belonging that define them.
