Preservation and Restoration of the Andes Apartments in Little Havana

Bardisa Investment Group & Hero Homes Solutions

Dade Heritage Trust proudly recognizes Bardisa Investment Group and Hero Homes Solutions for their outstanding preservation and restoration of the Andes Apartments, located at 1260 SW 6th Street in Little Havana. Originally built in 1929 as a hotel, this 71-unit property spans two adjoining buildings connected by a corridor and has been thoughtfully revitalized with over $3 million in improvements since its acquisition in 2022.

Working closely with architect Laura Weinstein—who also led the building’s local and national historic designation—the team prioritized maintaining the structure’s original character. A specialized paint study restored the original off-white and salmon color scheme, while key architectural features such as window styles, façade elements, and iron railings were carefully preserved. The exterior remains true to its historic roots, while the updated interior ensures modern, safe, and healthy living conditions.

Every detail reflects a deep respect for the building’s past and a commitment to Little Havana’s vibrant cultural heritage. Congratulations to Armando Bardisa, Gerald Henriquez, Monik Guadagno, Sayam Ibrahim, Xavier Ibrahim, and Laura Weinstein for safeguarding this architectural treasure.
