Dade Heritage Trust preserved and relocated the historic Wagner Homestead to Lummus Park in the late 1970s, helping save what is recognized today as Miami’s oldest home.
Now an important part of DHT’s Historic Places, Green Spaces K-12 education program, the homestead required significant restoration work to preserve the structure for future generations.
In 2023, DHT received a grant from The Villagers to replace the roof of the historic property. Provive Group then expanded the project by completing additional structural and window repairs, with final inspections approved in January 2026.
