The 2025 DHT Key Keeper Award goes to the Buenfil Family, proud stewards of one of Miami’s most distinctive architectural gems—the A-Frame Boathouse and Residence on 37th Avenue near Miami International Airport. Built in 1960, this eye-catching structure has long stood as a symbol of Miami’s mid-century character. In 2024, the Buenfil Family took a meaningful step to preserve its legacy by securing historic designation through Miami-Dade County’s Office of Historic Preservation.
Their care and commitment to this unique property exemplify what it means to celebrate and protect our city’s architectural heritage. Accepting the award on behalf of the family were Christina de Cordoba and Leonard Delorenzo, who enjoy the rare privilege of docking their boat right at the boathouse.
